Linda M. Stratton, age 49, died Sunday, August 28, 2005, at her home in Brookings, South Dakota, after a difficult battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 1, 2005, at the United Church of Christ, 828, 8th St. S., in Brookings, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitations will be from 5-7 P.M. Wednesday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Linda Marie (Hazer) Stratton was born June 30, 1956, at Pierre, South Dakota, to Lyle and Betty J. (Dutro) Hazer. She graduated from Brookings High School. She was married to Richard Stratton; they later divorced. Linda worked at the Prairie Caf' and the Fireside Restaurant, and was currently employed at Wal-Mart. She had a passion for helping others, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings, and enjoyed boxing, cooking, crafts, movies, and listening to Neil Diamond. Survivors include her two sons, Kennith and Daniel Stratton, both of Brookings; father, Lyle 'Willy" Hazer of Brookings; a brother, William (Sandy) Hazer of Baldwin, Wisconsin; and a sister, Debbie (Brian) Stevens of Queensland, Australia. Her mother died in 1999.
