Linda Raabe, 73, of Brookings, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls from complications due to COVID-19.  A memorial service and celebration of Linda's life will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings.  The service will be recorded and uploaded to the Eidsness Funeral Home website on Thursday afternoon.  Burial will immediately follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Brookings.  Family and friends are invited to join the Raabe family after the burial for a time of fellowship and a light meal at Eidsness Funeral Home.  A time of visitation will be held the evening prior, Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Eidsness Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M.

Linda Rose Raabe was born on April 24, 1948, at Madison, South Dakota to Verne and Yvonne (Keller) Lamster.  She grew up in the Madison and Brookings areas, graduating from Brookings High School and later attending business school in Watertown, South Dakota where she attained her Associate's Degree.  On September 23, 1972, Linda was united in marriage to Robert Raabe in Brookings, making their home in the Brookings area for over 40 years.

Linda managed Hallmark in Brookings for over 30 years, affectionately becoming known as "The Card Lady" to those around her.  After retiring from Hallmark, Linda began working at Jackrabbit Central in downtown Brookings, as well as helping at Brookings Fireworks for a number of years.

Another of Linda's signifying traits was the many beautiful turquoise rings she routinely wore, designating her as "The Lady with all of the Turquoise Rings."   Linda held many interests throughout her life, but her favorite pastime was shopping.  She enjoyed attending craft shows, was a lover of animals, and was graced with the "gift of gab," which allowed her to easily meet and make new friends wherever she found herself.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Robert Raabe, of Brookings; children: Shawnda Raabe (John Borden) and Shad Raabe; granddaughter Arianna Overgaard; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Verne and Yvonne Lamster; and a brother, Ron Lamster.
