Linda J. Johnson, age 62, of Brookings, died Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Brookview Manor in Brookings. Memorial services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at First Lutheran Church in Brookings, with interment in First Lutheran Cemetery in Volga. Visitations will be from 4-7 P.M. Tuesday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings.

Linda Joanne Johnson was born April 7, 1947, in Brookings, daughter of Orven and Delores (Bertness) Johnson. She grew up in Valley Springs and Volga and graduated from Volga High School. Linda did some waitressing and then went to work for 3-M company in Brookings. She worked there for 35 years until her retirement in 2005. Linda loved shopping, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen, of Sioux Falls; four sisters: Judy (Doug) Nemitz, Brenda (Jim) Peterson, Sandy Lebert, and Sheila (Mike) Ningen all of Brookings; five brothers: Larry (Judy) Johnson of Amarillo, Texas, Lyle (Peggy) Johnson of Brookings, Loren (Becky) Johnson of Omaha, Nebraska, Gordon (Linda) Johnson of Houston, Texas, and Gerald (Wendy) Johnson of Goodyear, Arizona; 18 nieces and nephews; and 26 great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, a sister-in-law, and a great-nephew.
