Obituary

Linda Duehr, age 64, of Brookings, died Thursday, May 5, 2005, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, May 9, 2005, at First Lutheran Church in Brookings, with interment in the church cemetery. Visitations will be from 5-7 P.M. Sunday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Linda Mary (Stokes) Duehr was born September 16, 1940, at Flandreau, South Dakota, to Dale and Borghild (Hansen) Stokes. She grew up on a farm near Flandreau and graduated from Egan High School in 1958. She moved to Brookings in 1959. On November 6, 1960, she married Ronald Duehr at Colman, South Dakota. She was employed as a pharmacy technician at the Brookings Medical Clinic, and she and Ron operated the Ron-Lin Mushroom Farm for several years. Linda was a member of First Lutheran Church in Brookings. Her special interests included watching sprint car races, working out at the Powershop Gym, reading, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Ronald Duehr, of Brookings; three children: Bryan (Caryl) Duehr of Brookings, DeVonne (Michael) Powell of Sioux Falls, and Neal (Victoria) Duehr of Sioux Falls; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three brothers: Charles (Loretta) Stokes of Brookings, Dennis (Linda) Stokes of Mitchell, South Dakota, and Warren (Judy) Stokes of Bruce, South Dakota; and a sister, Dianne (Gordon) Leraas of Brookings. She was preceded in death by her parents.
