Obituary

Linda Crowe, 66, of Brookings, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center.  Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. on Friday, September 2nd at Eidsness Funeral Home with a Celebration of Linda's life at 7 P.M.   Burial will take place at Alta Vista Cemetery in Gainesville, Georgia at a future date.

Linda Crowe was born on February 9, 1956, to Jerry and Colleen (Swindle) Callans at St. Lukes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.  Linda spent her youth in St. Charles, MO, graduating from Francis-Howell High School.  Following her high school graduation, Linda went on to obtain a degree in Early Childhood Development from Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, MO.  She then went on to work as a Daycare Director for the Salvation Army.  Later in her life, Linda revisited her education and earned a Teaching Degree, and taught at elementary schools in Missouri, Indiana, and locally at Central, Medary, and Hillcrest schools before retiring.  On June 16, 1990, Linda was united in marriage to Don Crowe at the First Baptist Church in Springfield, MO. Another important date in her life was June 25, 2000, when she and Don welcomed their daughter Susanna to their family.

Linda served on the board of the United Living Community, as well as working as a Mary Kay consultant.  She also taught Bible School at GracePoint Wesleyan Church in Brookings.  She enjoyed scrapbooking, taking pictures, crocheting, reading, and gardening.

Linda is survived by her husband, Don Crowe, of Brookings; daughter, Susanna Crowe, and her husband, Joshua Dutcher, of Sioux Falls; cousins Gary Swindle of Florida, Judy (Bob) Romano of Pittsburgh, Cheryl (Dave) Casteel of St. Louis, and Connie (Bob) Whithaus of St. Louis; brother-in-law Glyn (Charline) Crowe of Clermont, Georgia; sister-in-law Susan Crowe of Gainesville, Georgia; and her best friend, Sherry (Jeff) Martin of Dallas, TX.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jerry Callans and Colleen Drysdale; her brother, David Callans; and cousins Mark Swindle and Mary Brown.
