Linda Bliss, 72, of Brookings, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at the Brookings Hospital.  A memorial service will be held celebrating Linda's life on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Eidsness Funeral Home, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Linda K. Loftesness was born March 14, 1946, to Alvin and Hilma (Bankson) Loftesness in Sioux Falls, SD. She graduated from Washington Senior High School in 1964, and attended college at South Dakota State University and Northern State College.

On September 11, 1971, she married Paul Bliss at First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. They farmed near Canby, MN, before moving to Brookings in 1999 where Linda worked as a secretary at Select High until retiring in 2011.

Her battle with cancer ended Thursday, July 26. She was a talented artist and cherished companion to her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law, Arlyn Bliss; and brother-in-law, DeWayne Bliss.

Linda is survived by her husband Paul; brother Roger Loftesness of Sioux Falls; her children Ryan (Catharine) Bliss of Rochester, MN, and Leah Bliss (Ove Lilja) of Inver Grove Heights, MN; grandchildren Patrick, Annika, and Micah Bliss, and Niklas Lilja and his brother who is due this fall.
