Lenore F. Erickson, age 75, of Aurora, died Thursday, January 22, 2004, at the United Retirement Center in Brookings, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 27, 2003, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elkton, South Dakota, with interment in the church cemetery. Visitations will be from 5-8 P.M. Monday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Lenore F. (Schaffer) Erickson was born September 7, 1928, at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She graduated from Elkton High School in 1947, and attended Canby Vocational-Technical School for one year. She cared for her grandmother for ten years and worked in a hardware store in Elkton for 14 years. She owned a laundromat in Elkton for five years. For 15 years she worked at the Holiday Inn in Brookings. She kept house for her uncle, Edward Schaffer, for many years. On November 8, 1969, she married Carl Erickson at Elkton. He died January 8, 1983. Lenore was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elkton and the Senior Citizens in Aurora. Her special interests included crocheting, and playing pinochle and bingo. Survivors include an uncle, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
