Laura Deiterman, 57, of Sioux Falls, passed away on May 6, 2023, at Ava's House in Sioux Falls, SD.  Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at the Hayti Lutheran Church in Hayti, SD.  Interment will take place at the West Norden Cemetery in Hayti, SD.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 P.M.  Eidsness Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Laura Jean Deiterman was born on July 20, 1965, to Richard and Virginia (DeVine) Olson in Watertown, South Dakota. She started her education in Sioux Falls, later graduating from Hamlin High School in 1983. She also attended Dakota State in Madison, South Dakota. On August 19, 1995, she was united in marriage to Jim Deiterman.

Laura was employed at various places throughout her life, but most recently was working as the production line programmer at Dakota Digital in Sioux Falls since 2018.

Laura is survived by her daughter, Emily, of Brookings; her mom, Ginny Olson, of Hayti; her four sisters: Carrie (Dan) Robinson, of Rapid City, April (Scott) Herrboldt, of Redmond, WA, Julie (Del) Lee, of Aberdeen, and Linda (Ron) Schlenker, of Hayti; 13 nieces and nephews; 11 great-nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is also survived by her special companion, Rick Helmbolt, of Sioux Falls, and his children, Brittany (Shawn) Lewno and Jeremy; and Rick's three grandchildren, whom she loved dearly: Alaina, Logan, and Natalie.

She is preceded in death by her dad, Rick Olson; her brother, Bradley Olson; her niece, Gabrielle Schlenker; her grandparents: Fritz and Jean DeVine and Ernie and Ruth Olson; and her godparents, Robert "Uncle Bob" and Harriet "Auntie" DeVine.
