Larry E. Pierce, age 54, died Sunday, February 22, 2015, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2015, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials. Larry Edward Pierce was born September 4, 1960, at Flandreau, South Dakota, to Donald and Mardis (Dawson) Pierce. He lived with his family for a time in Miller and then in Brookings where he graduated from high school. He was employed by several industrial companies in Brookings. On August 10, 1985, he married Melanie Sorsen at Aurora. They later divorced. Larry enjoyed supporting his three children in their various activities, especially Tae Kwan Do. Survivors include his daughter, Courtney (Justin) Petersen, of St. Paul, Minnesota; two sons: Nick Pierce of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, and Austin Pierce of Volga, South Dakota; his former wife, Melanie Pierce, of Volga; sister, Val (Brad) McManus, of Brookings; a niece, Jamie McManus, and two nephews, Devin and Mason McManus. He was preceded in death by his parents.
