Obituary

Larry W. Moulton, age 79, of Elkton, died Friday, December 4, 2009, at Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at Prairie Winds Baptist Church at Elkton, with interment in the Elkton City Cemetery. Visitations will be from 5-8 P.M. Monday at Eidsness-Zink Funeral Chapel in Elkton.

Larry W. Moulton was born July 28, 1930, on the family farm near Aurora, South Dakota. He attended country schools and Elkton High School. In 1951 he joined the U.S. Air Force and served as a crew chief on a B36 Bomber. On August 6, 1954, he married Alice Van Maanen in Brookings. After his discharge from the Air Force in 1956 Larry began farming near Elkton, eventually buying the same farm where he and Alice still resided.

Larry was a member of the American Legion and Gideons. He served on the Elkton Township Board for many years. He and Alice enjoyed traveling to many places around the world. Larry particularly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Alice, of Elkton; three children: Larry (Deanna) Moulton of Verdi, MN, Barbara (Sam) Vanderpool of Wichita, KS, and Julie (Chuck) Pritchett of Derby, Kansas; ten grandchildren: Christina, David, Conrad (Jamie), Michael, Chantelle, Samantha, Scott, Chase, Brooke, and Brian; two great-grandchildren: Chris and Sheridan; a brother, Tom (Juanita) Moulton of Brookings; two sisters: Jackie (Harland) Haug of Huron, SD, and Delillah (Tom) Reynolds of Carson, MS; a son-in-law, Bill DeZeeuw, of Pipestone, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Anita DeZeeuw.
