Kevin Schlotman, age 56, died suddenly, February 17, 2015, from an apparent heart attack while at work. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Holy Life Tabernacle Church in Brookings with interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitations will be from 5-7 p.m., Friday at Eidsness Funeral Home. Kevin was born September 15, 1958, in Brookings, South Dakota, to Stanley and Lavada (Eberlein) Schlotman. He grew up on the family farm near Sinai. Kevin enjoyed living on the farm, and forever had farming in his heart. He graduated from Sioux Valley High School in May of 1977. Kevin participated in football, and was recognized as an all state football player. In 1988, Kevin began working at Twin City Fan in Brookings, and was currently working there at the time of his death. He was a member of Holy Life Tabernacle Church. Kevin enjoyed reading and history. He was known for his green thumb and love for plants. Kevin loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his daughter, Andrea Schlotman of Edina, MN; mother, Lavada Schlotman of Brookings; brothers, Keith Schlotman of Volga and Karl (Sheri) Schlotman of Brandon, SD; sister, Beverly (Trevor) Fuss of West Fargo, ND; nephews, Tyler, Hunter, and Ryan Schlotman; nieces, Rylee and Madison Schlotman; step-children, Justin and Brandon Vostad and Ashlee Ricketts; and seven grandchildren. Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Schlotman.
