IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Harlow
Boynton
August 26, 1928 – August 7, 2018
Kenneth Boynton, age 89, of Brookings, passed away, Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at the United Living Community. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Eidsness Funeral Home.
Kenneth was born August 26, 1928, in Maine. He left home at an early age, and began working in the shipyards. Because of his size, he was placed inside small areas of the ship, where he learned the art of welding. Kenneth later traveled the United States working many different jobs. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army, and eventually settled in Brookings, SD. Kenneth worked for Mannerud Construction, and then for Dale's Alignment, where he worked for over 20 years. His skill of welding and design helped many truck drivers in the Brookings area. He could fix and build about anything. Even if he didn't have an immediate solution, he would tell his clients that he would go home and sleep on it, and by the morning he always had a solution for the problem.
Kenneth was an excellent cook. He shared his many talents of cooking, welding, and inventive spirit with his friends and colleagues. Kenneth also had a true passion for hunting. This year was the first year he missed prairie dog hunting because of his declining health.
Survivors include his daughter, Penny Teal; son, Kenny Boynton; grandson, Matthew (Kristen) Teal; 2 great-grandchildren, Teagen and Triggen; and numerous close friends.
