Kathleen "Kathy" Triebwasser, age 68, of Volga, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, July 16, 2011, at First Reformed Church in Volga, with interment in Union Cemetery at Flandreau. Visitations will be from 5-8 P.M. Friday at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in Volga. Kathleen Kay Kindler was born March 28, 1943, at Tracy, Minnesota, to Hannah E. Kindler and Axel H. Jensen. She graduated from the eighth grade at St. Eloi's Catholic School in Ghent, Minnesota, and from Lynd High School in 1961. She graduated from Mankato Business School in 1963. Kathy worked for Twin City Federal Savings and Loan in Pipestone, Minnesota, before her marriage to Kenneth Triebwasser on February 23, 1974, at First Baptist Church in Pipestone. They lived and farmed in Clare Township near Flandreau, South Dakota, their entire married life. Kenneth died February 22, 1992. After Kenneth's passing, Kathy worked as a cook at the Dell Rapids Hospital and then as a housekeeper at the United Retirement Center in Brookings for 15 years. Kathy was a member of First Reformed Church in Volga, and was involved in Bible study groups. While in Flandreau, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Pipestone and the Busy Bee club. She enjoyed working with farm animals, especially horses and later piglets. She won many awards and ribbons while a member of various saddle clubs, including Southwest Saddle Club Association's Queen. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her two children: Kevin (Tanya) Triebwasser, of Volga, South Dakota, and Karen (Jon) Krein of Astoria, South Dakota; seven grandchildren; her mother, Hannah Jensen, of Ruthton, Minnesota; and a sister, Vivian (Gary) DeJong, of Webster, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her husband; father; a half-brother, Donald Jensen, and a half-sister, Delores Jensen.
