Julia E. Jute Zuiderhof, age 74, of Volga, died Monday, February 28, 2005, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2005, at the Volga Christian Reformed Church, with interment in Trinity Cemetery. Visitations will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in Volga. Julia Emma (Mans) Zuiderhof was born November 21, 1930, on the family farm in Bangor Township, Brookings County, South Dakota, to Mitchell and Ida (Piebenga) Mans. She attended District No. 86 country school and Volga High School. On January 17, 1950, she married Mindert Mike Zuiderhof at Volga. The couple lived in Sioux Falls and returned to Volga in 1951. Julia was a member of the Volga Christian Reformed Church and ladies aid, and taught a special Bible class. She was a member of the A to Z Extension Club. Survivors include her husband, Mindert Mike Zuiderhof, of Volga; three children: Ilene Zuiderhof of Sioux Falls, Michael (Louise) Zuiderhof of Weeting, England, and Timothy (Michele) Zuiderhof of Sioux Falls; four grandchildren: Wayne (Rhose) Zuiderhof, Maria (Lyle) Boltjes, Jacki Zuiderhof, and Kyle Zuiderhof; and two sisters: Alice Volkers of Volga, and Esther Meyer of Lynden, Washington. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Mitchell Mans, Jr., Bill Mans, and Hank Mans; and two sisters: Betty Vander Wal and Rose Kallemeyn.
