Juan P. Abarca, age 29, of Brookings, died Tuesday, November 6, 2007, at Brookings Hospital, of injuries received in a construction accident in Brookings. Visitation and prayer service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2007, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Funeral services will be held at a later date in Mexico. Juan Pablo Abarca Estrada was born August 10, 1978 , at La Piedad, Michoacan, Mexico, to Pablo Abarca Melgosa and Maria del Carmen Elisa Estrada Torres. Juan enjoyed childhood to the fullest. He always had a smile on his face. Juan was a calm boy, intelligent and outgoing. He played soccer, while graduating high school. On September 19, 1998, he married Mercedes Medina Lopez. They have 3 children and lived in Mexico until Juan came to the United States 7 months ago to work. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, soccer, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Mercedes; three children, Rogelio , Jackeline and Ximena Abarca Medina, and his parents Pablo and Maria Abarca Melgosa, all of Mexico; two sisters, Maria Guadalupe and Martha Alicia Abarca Estrada of Mexico; and two brothers, Alejandro Abarca Estrada, in Brookings, and Eduardo Abarca Estrada in Mexico; and numerous cousins in the United States and Mexico.?
