Joyce Ruth Boucher, age 73, of Brookings, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at the Brookings Hospital. Joyce's wish was to donate her body for medical research. Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2015, at Eidsness Funeral Home.
Joyce Ruth Boucher was born January 1, 1942, to Winfred and Ruth (Miner) Fellows in Turners Falls, Massachusetts. She graduated from Mahar Regional High School; where she was the drum majorette in junior high school and featured twirler in high school. Joyce was a graduate of Ward Business School. She also attended the Arthur Murray School of Dance, and was a gold medal winning ballroom dancer. Joyce became a ball room dance instructor.
Music and dance were a huge part of Joyce's life. She directed the first chapter of the Sweet Adeline Group, and was a member of the women's Barbershop Quartet "Moon Glow" in Fitchburg, MA. Joyce currently served on the board of directors of Volunteer Service Bank. She was the Brookings Area Singles Dance Group Director, and volunteered locally teaching line and ballroom dancing. She was a member of the Abundant Life Church in Brookings. Joyce was very loved by all who knew her.
Survivors include her sons; Troy and Dyanne Boucher of Perryton, Texas, Steve Boucher and (Margo Dempsey) of Brookings, and William "Bill" and Nikie Boucher of Gate, OK; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; father of her children and best friend, Richard Boucher of Gate, OK; brothers, James Fellows of Eustace, TX and Winfred Fellows of Erving, MA; sister, Sharon Fontaine of Leyden, MA; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William "Bill" Fellows and Ralph "Butchie" Fellows; and sister, Norma Perrault.
