John “Tracy” Nee, 66, of Brookings, SD passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with neck cancer. Tracy was born on July 21, 1959, in Las Vegas, NV to Dick and Terry Nee. He was the oldest of three siblings: Tom, Stacy, and Tim.

Tracy spent many years working in the construction industry with drywalling, where he was known for his willingness to help others, his drywall work was liked by many. Outside of work, he enjoying playing pool, recycling, and sharing his faith with those around him. His greatest testimony came through his unwavering belief in Jesus, and while cancer challenged his body, Tracy found victory and peace when he gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Nee, his daughter Dana Nee, grandchildren Hailey, Mary Beth, and Blake. Son Jason Nee (Heather Nee) grandchildren Malori, and Korbin. Stepdaughter Porfidia Coetzee (Donovan Coetzee) grandchildren Delaney, Mila, Bronson, and Hendrik. As well as many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents Dick and Terry his brother Tim and his son Mikey.

Tracy will be remembered for his resilience, his caring heart, and his zeal for the Lord that carried him through life’s hardest moments. His family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace.
