JoAnn Kay Fideler, age 43, died Thursday, January 25, 2007, at her home in Volga, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at the Volga Christian Reformed Church, with interment in Trinity Cemetery. Visitations will be from 4-8 P.M. Monday at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in Volga. Memorials may be directed to the Volga Christian School. JoAnn Kay (Elenkiwich) Fideler was born October 24, 1963, at Clear Lake, South Dakota, to John and Ardis (Squires) Elenkiwich. She grew up on the farm south of Clear Lake. She attended school first at Clear Lake, then Lake Wales, Florida, for several months, and then back at Clear Lake through the eleventh grade. She attended her senior year at Brookings High School, where she graduated. She attended SDSU and the Stewart School for cosmetology in Sioux Falls. On September 19, 1987, she married Kenneth Fideler at the Brookings Wesleyan Church. JoAnn worked at the Coast to Coast Warehouse in Brookings for 18 years, Daktronics for four years, and at Dr. Jahns and Dr. Jones optometry office until becoming ill. JoAnn was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake, the Brookings Wesleyan Church, and the Volga Christian Reformed Church, where she had served as organist and pianist. Her special interests included playing the piano, watching her children participate in sports, riding the golf cart around Volga to visit friends, and shopping with her friend Melanie Hageman and their daughters. Survivors include her husband, Ken Fideler, of Volga; three children at home, Matthew, Erica, and Adam; her mother, Ardis Elenkiwich, of Brookings; four brothers: Alan (Kathy) Elenkiwich and Kyle Elenkiwich, both of Brookings, and David (Sue) Elenkiwich and Lyle (Donna) Elenkiwich, both of Minneapolis, Minnesota; a sister, Lesa (Jeff) Svennes, of Brookings; mother-in-law, Ione Fideler, of Delmont, South Dakota; six brothers-in-law; and six sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her father, John Elenkiwich, and father-in-law, Wilbur Fideler
