Jeffrey Jay Olson, age 57, of Volga, passed away Monday, February 17, 2020. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 21, 2020, at First Lutheran Church in Volga with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Visitations will be 4-7 P.M. Thursday, February 20, 2020, at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in Volga.

Jeff was born March 13, 1962, to Gene (Ruth) Langner Olson at Volga, South Dakota. He grew up in Volga and graduated from Sioux Valley High School in 1980.  After high school, Jeff worked for Falcon Plastics until 1995, when he was forced to retire due to health issues.

On May 18, 1991, Jeff married the love of his life, Mary Schnell in Volga. Jeff was a member of First Lutheran Church in Volga.  He celebrated life by fishing, hunting, bowling, pitching horse shoes, playing cards, taking care of his yard, and playing with his cats and dog.

Survivors include his wife Mary of Volga; one son, Nick Olson Arizona; his mother, Ruth Olson of Volga; siblings, Gary Olson, Scott (Lynn) Olson both of Volga, Anita (Steve) Ust, and Joan (Rick) VanSambeek both of Brookings; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Gene; and brother, Steve.
