Jeff Mountain Ebel, age 46, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, at his home in Brookings, South Dakota. Memorial services will be 4:00 P. M. Wednesday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Jeffrey Allen Ebel was born April 16, 1962, at Wheaton, Minnesota, to Lynn Charles and Ellen (Wallman) Ebel. He attended grade school and high School in Wheaton. Jeff drove truck for several construction companies in the tri-state area. Most recently driving for Rexcon Materials. Jeff was confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Wheaton. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan, and enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, cars, watching movies, pontoon boat rides, WWE wrestling, and playing with his dog Yodda. His biggest passion was spending time with his girls, grandkids, nieces, and nephews. Survivors include his two daughters: Christina Meckelvaney of Madison, South Dakota and Sara (Doug) Ebel-Jenkins of Brookings; three grandchildren: Mikayla and Dylan Meckelvaney, and Owen Jenkins; his step-mother, Diane Gilbertson; three sisters: Cindy (Vern) Olson of Brookings, Lanette (Greg) Barnes of Hudson, Wisconsin, and Jodi (Steve) Nesheim of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and four brothers: Dale (Linnae) Ebel of Zimmerman, Minnesota, Keith (Sue) Ebel of Silverdale, Washington, Craig (Patty) Ebel of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, and Jason Ebel of Zimmerman, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ellen and Lynn; and the mother of his children, Zelma Meckelvaney.
