Jean M. Quinn died Friday, October 10, 2003, at the Brookings Hospital in Brookings, South Dakota. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 15, 2003, at St. Pauls Catholic Church in White, South Dakota, with interment in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Elkton, South Dakota. Visitations will be from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday at the Eidsness Funeral Chapel in White, with a prayer service to follow at 8:00 P.M. at St. Pauls Catholic Church. Jean M. (Sliwoski) was born March 12, 1918, in New Jersey, to Thomas and Stefania (Belkowiez) Sliwoski. She attended local schools and then worked in New Jersey, cutting coats. She married Dominick Rigillo on August 27, 1938, at Mt. Carmel Church in Bayonne, New Jersey. They had one daughter, Barbara. They moved to California in 1943 where Jean worked in restaurants in Beverly Hills. Dominick died March 17, 1961. On October 23, 1971, Jean married Delmar Quinn at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hollywood, California. They later moved to the Quinn family farm five miles south of White. Jean was a member of St. Pauls Catholic Church, serving as a eucharistic minister and on various committees. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the White Historical Society. Survivors include her husband, Delmar Quinn, of White; daughter, Barbara (Mick) Foss of Buhl, Idaho; four grandchildren: Debbie (Don) Bishop, Randy (Kim) Foss, Heather Thompson, and Billy Furden; three great-grandchildren: Richard Bishop, and Amanda and Jacklyn Thompson; and a nephew, Jim (Billie) Quinn, of Renner, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dominick, a step-son, Richard Quinn, and a sister, Loretta Bielicki.
