Jane J. Riechers, age 83, of Volga, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at the Brookings Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, May 12, 2008, at First Lutheran Church in Volga, South Dakota, with interment at 3:00 P.M. Monday at the Faulkton Cemetery, Faulkton, South Dakota. Visitations will be from 4-7 P.M. Sunday at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in Volga. Jane Jackman (Seaman) Riechers was born December 12, 1924, at Faulkton, South Dakota, to Leonard and Belva (Wright) Seaman. She attended school in Faulkton, graduating from Faulkton High School. She attended school to become an Accredited Records Technician, and worked in the medical records field in Aberdeen and Faulkton. On October 21, 1949, she married Delmer G. Riechers at Faulkton. They farmed in Hand County until 1969 when they moved to Aberdeen. They lived in Marshfield, Wisconsin, from 1979 until 1983 when they moved to Volga. Delmer died July 27, 1989. Jane served as a church organist in Orient, South Dakota. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Volga and the Century Club. She started an Altrusa Club while living in Marshfield. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her three children: Dr. Mary Helen Harris of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, William (LaVonne) Riechers of Volga, South Dakota, and Dr. George (Dr. Jan Beyers) Riechers of Moreno Valley, California; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert (Marjorie) Seaman, of Portland, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Fred Wright Seaman and Leonard Seaman, Jr.; and a sister, Mary Wilson.
