Jamison Michael Bjorklund, 49, passed away on July 10, 2026, at his home near Brookings, South Dakota.

Jamison was born on June 3, 1977, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, to Gary and Lori Bjorklund. He was the oldest of five boys and one sister and grew up in the Brookings area surrounded by a large, close-knit family. As a young boy, Jamison wrestled, occasionally found himself in a little trouble, and developed a lifelong love of fishing.

Some of his favorite childhood memories were spent at his grandparents’ farms in Alvord, Iowa, and Estelline, South Dakota, at the Kock family cabin on Big Stone Lake, and on fishing trips to Fry Lake in Canada. Those experiences sparked a passion for the outdoors that stayed with him throughout his life, and one he was proud to share with those he loved.

At the age of 19, Jamison experienced the heartbreaking loss of both his parents and his younger brother, Jon. Though those losses forever changed his life, they did not define it. Through determination and resilience, he rebuilt his future—committing himself to both his physical and mental health, earning his education, and becoming a skilled CNC programmer.

Jamison met the love of his life, Anna Ramirez, in the fall of 2011. They made their home together in Brookings, where they built a life centered on family, love, and perseverance. They were married on November 26, 2012. Becoming a husband, stepfather, and father was one of Jamison’s greatest joys. He welcomed Isaac on Father’s Day weekend, June 20, 2012, and took immense pride in being the kind of father and family man his own parents would have been proud of.

In addition to his son, Isaac, Jamison loved his bonus children, Ethan, Olivia, and Adrian as his own. Whether camping, fishing, or simply spending time together, he treasured making memories with his family and passing along his love for the outdoors.

Jamison loved all kinds of music and rarely passed up the opportunity to attend a live concert, especially if he could score great seats. He was a devoted Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan and enjoyed playing Pokémon GO, always finding joy in life’s little adventures.

Following a life-changing injury, Jamison refused to let it define him. He continued to drive, camp, fish, and pursue the things he loved. Even in recent months, he remained hopeful, going through the process of applying for Neuralink clinical trials. His courage, determination, and positive outlook inspired everyone who knew him.

Jamison is survived by his beloved wife, Anna; his son, Isaac; his bonus children, Ethan, Olivia, and Adrian; his siblings; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gary and Lori Bjorklund, and his younger brother, Jon.

In accordance with Jamison’s wishes, he was cremated. His ashes will be scattered around the globe in places that held special meaning throughout his life. A Celebration of Life will be held on the first anniversary of his passing, when a headstone will be placed at Lawn Mission Covenant Cemetery.

Jamison will be remembered for his resilience, adventurous spirit, generous heart, and unwavering love for his family. He faced unimaginable loss and extraordinary challenges throughout his life, yet continued to move forward with courage, hope, and determination. His legacy lives on in every fishing trip, every campfire, every concert, and every life he touched.
