James R. Trulock, age 90, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at the Hendricks Nursing Home, Hendricks, Minnesota. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the United Methodist Church in White, with interment in the Hendricks City Cemetery. Visitations will precede services at the church, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
Jim was born on March 27, 1926, one of ten children born to William and Clara Trulock. He spent his early years on a farm near what is now Hendricks, MN. After a tragic farm accident that took the life of his father he moved to White, SD with his family. He joined the military in June of 1944, fighting in the Pacific theater. In 1946 he returned to the states and was employed as an electrician. He married Irene Brummond in 1947, after which they began farming. They lived with their growing family on a farm northeast of White. In 1981 they moved to a small farm outside of Toronto, SD where they lived until moving into Hendricks.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers (Ralph and William), four sisters (Violet, Ivy, Daisy and Ada) daughter in law (Roberta) granddaughter in law (Kaci)
and infant daughter ( Sharon Rose). He is survived by his wife of 68 years Irene, daughters Rita (Sheldon) Monsrud of Chisago, MN, Janice (Allen) Rasmussen of Madison, SD, Kathleen (Michael) Lindner of Watertown, SD and Carol (Stewart) McMurray of Guyman, OK; two sons Robert of Overgaard ,AZ and Dennis of White, SD; and a sister, Rose Selleck, of Brookings.
Jim was a part of the "Greatest Generation" and a guy with a wry sense of humor to the end. He loved his family and farming; he is greatly loved and will be terribly missed.
