Obituary

James B. Pick, age 58, died Monday, March 24, 2008, at his home in White, South Dakota. Funeral Mass will be 2:00 P.M. Friday at St. Pauls Catholic Church in White, with interment around 4:00 P.M. at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery near Ivanhoe, Minnesota. Visitations will be an hour before the service at the church in White. James Bernard Pick was born October 26, 1949, at Adrian, Minnesota, to Urban and Bernadette (Wilberding) Pick. He was raised in St. Kilian, Minnesota, area until age two when the family moved to Ivanhoe, Minnesota. James attended school in Ivanhoe and graduated from Ivanhoe High School. He got his welding certificate from Canby Area Tech, and later attended Red Wing Trade School for two years for computer. He worked in the Minneapolis, Mankato, and Marshall areas as a welder, until becoming disabled. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in earlier years. For the last several years he has lived with his sister in White, spending time on his computer and enjoying his two cats and his dog. Survivors include his mother, Bernadette, of the White Care Center; his brother, Melvin Pick, of Gibbon, Minnesota; and his sister, Mary Ann Pick, of White, South Dakota. He was preceded in death by his father, Urban; and a sister, Jane.
