James Hofer, age 66, of Brookings, died Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at home due to an aneurysm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2014, at Eidsness Funeral Home with interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitations will be two hours prior to the funeral service on Friday. James Wesley Hofer was born on May 5, 1948, to Wesley and Evelyn Hofer in Huron, SD. The family later moved to Deadwood, SD, and then to Brookings in 1961. Jim was employed with farming operations around the Brookings area and later worked for Super 8 in Brookings. Jim married the love of his life, Constance Tedjasukmana in Indonesia on May 20, 2006. They moved back to the United States and started a family. Jim enjoyed fishing, bow hunting, watching his beloved Minnesota Twins and Vikings and spending time with his family, especially his daughter, Alesha. Survivors include his wife, Constance; daughter, Alesha; brother, Randy Hofer all of Brookings; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews, and numerous cousins. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Douglas.
