Jacqueline Jean West, age 77, was called home to her Heavenly Father on Monday, November 10, 2008, at Brookview Manor in Brookings, South Dakota. The family will receive friends at  Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 15, 2008, with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, with Rev. Pam Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Please come to celebrate Jackie's life following the service at the home of Jason and Sue Oines.

Jacqueline Jean (Greene) West was born January 28, 1931, in her grandparents' home in Nelsonville, Ohio.  She was raised in Nelsonville, Ohio, Texas, back to Nelsonville, and Columbus, Ohio. She attended high school at Central High School in Columbus, Ohio, where she was a band member and honor student. She was a loving, caring, and proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, reading, writing, painting, and bird watching. She always had pets for her children growing up including a monkey, parrots, and her favorite pet poodle (Pete). She had a strong faith in God and enjoyed visiting with others about the Bible.

Survivors include her sons: Paul David West and wife, Helen, of Grove City, Ohio, James Edward West and wife, Beverlee, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Daniel Steven West and wife, Vickie, of Marysville, Ohio; daughters: Emily Jane Bennett and husband, Jim, of Brookings, South Dakota, and Jacqueline (Sue) Oines, and husband, Jason, of Brookings; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Alonzo West, twin sons, Harley and Charles, mother, Eunice Emily Post, and her father, Raymond Greene, and grandparents.
