Ina (Shadewald) Osterday, age 58, of Omaha, died Tuesday, October 4, 2005, at the Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church in Brookings, with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Ina Marie (Shadewald) Osterday was born March 29, 1947, at Hendricks, Minnesota to Earl and Martha (Slattenow) Shadewald. She lived with her family on various farms, attended school at Toronto, and moved to Brookings when she was in the sixth grade. The family lived in Bowdle for two years before moving back to Brookings, where Ina graduated from high school. For eighteen years, she lived at Kearney, Nebraska, where she married Jerry Osterday on June 10, 1978. While in Kearney, Ina owned Check-Rite. She and Jerry moved to Omaha in 1993. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Osterday, of Omaha; a son, Byron Bauer, of Omaha; four grandchildren: Shelby DeAnn Bauer, Brenden Lee Bauer, Nicholas James Bauer, and Logan Mathew Bauer; a daughter-in-law, Denise Bauer, of Omaha; two brothers: Tom Shadewald of Norfolk, Nebraska, and Herb (Kay) Shadewald of Brookings; two nieces and two nephews: Deneen Shadewald and great-niece Britney Shadewald, of Omaha, Todd (Ellie) Shadewald of Aurora, Colorado, and Jennifer Shadewald and Steven Shadewald, both of Brookings. She was preceded in death by her parents.
