Henry "Hank" "Bud" Williams, age 88, passed away on Monday, August 29 th at the Brookings Hospital.  Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at Our Saviors Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brookings.  Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. on Monday at Eidsness Funeral Home.

Henry Duane Williams was given life by his creator, and was born on December 6, 1933; the child of Fred and Helma Williams. On January 14, 1934, he received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God. On June 22, 1947, he publicly confessed his faith and was confirmed, receiving the precious gift of the Lord's life-giving body and blood. On April 24, 1965, he received the gift of beloved companionship in his spouse, Marcia. He was blessed with the gift of children, Travis Williams and Leslie Williams. God blessed Henry with many special people as he served God in his vocations at home, church, work, and in the community. Finally, on August 29, 2022, God blessed Henry with a holy death and took him home to rest in the arms of Jesus to await the resurrection of the dead.

Henry attended public school in Howard, SD and graduated from high school in 1951. He attended SDSU, graduating in June of 1955 with a Civil Engineering degree. Henry also received his 2 nd Lt. Commission through the ROTC at SDSU in 1955. He attended Officers Basic Training at Ft. Belvoir, VA. His first duty station was Okinawa from December of 1955 to March of 1956. He then transferred to the 29 th Engineering Survey Company in Thailand where he did the control surveying of the compilation of topographic maps of Thailand. He was released from active duty in June of 1957. In the fall of 1957 Henry began working for Banner and Associates and worked as a Construction Engineer on many projects throughout South Dakota until his retirement in January of 1996.

Henry was preceded in death by his father, Fred Williams, his mother, Helma Williams, his brothers, Floyd Williams and Merlin Williams. He is survived by his wife, Marcia, his son and daughter-in-law Travis and Marla Williams; and his daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Roger Muller.

The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the Name of the Lord! We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, and Lord for our brother Henry.
