Helen C. Jacob, age 75, of Brookings, died Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at the Brookings Hospital in Brookings, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 11, 2004, at Brookings Christian Church, 424 8th St. There will be no visitations. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials. Helen Crystal Mossholder Jacob was born June 29, 1929, in Bloomingdale, Wisconsin, to Ronald and Hattie (Hilton) Mossholder. She grew up and attended school in Bloomingdale. On May 7, 1959, she married Donald Frank Jacob at Reno, Nevada. They moved to California where Helen worked as a cook and waitress until retiring in 1978. Helen and Don moved to Brookings, South Dakota in 1998. Helen enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Donald; daughters: Rita Odens and Pam Stewart, all of Brookings, South Dakota. 9 grandchildren: Christy Gilbert of North Carolina, Darcy (Terry) Hicks of Florida, Dawn (Mike) Stephenson and Charles (Tammy) Gauf of Wisconsin, Kimberly (Eric) Odens of Bakersfield, California, Jill (Wade) Tirrel and Dakota Larsen of White, South Dakota, Donny Bell of Brookings, South Dakota, and Stacie (John) Hennecke of California; one sister, Margaret (Norman) Lindvig of Avalanche, Wisconsin, and one brother, Ronald Mossholder of Bloomingdale, Wisconsin. 21 great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ralph and Harlen Mossholder; and a sister, Dorothy Zeller.
