Hazel M. McHardy, 91, of Aurora, died March 10, 2012, in Durant, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Bethel Baptist Church in Brookings, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery. There will be no visitations. Eidsness Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. A complete obituary will follow. Hazel Maxey McHardy was born on Monday, February 7, 1921, in Philadelphia, Mississippi, to Bryant and Maud (Hardy) Maxey. She married Bryson Roy McHardy Sr. Hazel worked as a registered nurse for many years until her retirement. She has lived near Aurora and spent winter months in Coleman, Oklahoma, for the past five years. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and she enjoyed volunteering at the hospital and giving of herself for many different organizations. Survivors include her children: Vickie Ringdahl and her husband Ken of Brookings, and Bryson Roy McHardy Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Hannibal, Missouri; brothers: Hardy Maxey and wife Betty and jack Maxey and wife Minnalee all of Philadelphia, Mississippi; and grandchildren: Matthew Zancanella and wife Kristen, Bryel Mulligan and husband Sean, ReAnn Zancanella, Alex McHardy and wife Emma, William McHardy and wife Stephanie, Angela Mazur and husband Erik, and Cara Finken and husband Nick. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1999; brothers: Carey, Frankie Lee, and Clayton Maxey; and sister Maudine Hendrix.
