Obituary

Harriet Kruse, age 87, died Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at the White Healthcare Center in White, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 15, 2007, at First Baptist Church in White, South Dakota, with interment in Fairview Cemetery. Visitations will be from 6-8 P.M. Friday at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in White. Harriet (Jurrens) Kruse was born October 18, 1919, south of Toronto, South Dakota, to George and Mattie (Kruse) Jurrens. She attended country school at District No. 60 in Oak Lake Township. On June 4, 1938, she married Harm P. Kruse at Brookings. The couple farmed near Toronto, and moved to Hendricks, Minnesota, in 2005 and to White in November 2006. Harriet was a member of First Baptist Church in White. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Harm, of White; a son, Donald Kruse and his wife Beverly, of Hendricks, Minnesota; two grandchildren: Dawn (Jim) Derman of Appleton, Wisconsin, and Jeff (Kay) Kruse of Maple Grove, Minnesota; five great-grandchildren: Molly and Megan Derman, and Ashley, Michael, and Nicholas Kruse; three sisters: Lydia Stemple of Brookings, Marian (Marvin) Lundquist of Neligh, Nebraska, and Marlys Hexum of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and a brother, Johnnie Jurrens, of Brookings. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister, and four brothers-in-law.
