Harriet Hudek, age 78, died Thursday, August 10, 2006, at United Retirement Center in Brookings South Dakota. A Funeral Mass will be held 8:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 16, at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish, with interment in the church cemetery. Harriet Hudek was born December 13, 1927, at Platte, South Dakota, to Cyrill and Anna (Vanek) Hudek. She grew up in Platte and attended school into high school displaying artistic talent. She has been living in the Brookings area for several years. Survivors include two sisters, Pauline Hudek of Prescott, Arizona, and Mary Lou Hudek of Tyndall, South Dakota; and one brother, Jerry (Marcella) Hudek of Platte, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Adelaide.
