Gracia Wicks, age 76, died Friday, September 23, 2016, at her ADVANCE home under hospice care.  Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2016, at Eidsness Funeral Home.

Gracia was born April 30, 1940, in Spencer, Iowa, to Thomas and Bernice (Steffens) Wicks.  At the age of four, she moved to Redfield, SD.  In  2001, Gracia moved to Brookings.  She was welcomed and loved by her ADVANCE family.

Gracia loved singing, especially hymns.  She also enjoyed art, and even sold a few of her paintings.  She will be remembered for enjoying the simple things in life like sitting outside, bird watching, spending time with friends, her love of shopping and having her hair and nails done.

Survirors include her sister, Solveig (Dan) Heintz of North Charleston, SC;  her ADVANCE family and friends and specifically the staff at the Yorkshire house.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Thomas.
