Glenn M. TeBeest, age 77, of Brookings, died Sunday, February 4, 2007, at the United Retirement Center in Brookings, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 9, 2007, at the First Presbyterian Church in Brookings, with interment and military graveside rites at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitations will be from 4-7 P.M. Thursday at Eidsness Funeral Home. Glenn Merwin TeBeest was born October 7, 1929, at Castlewood, South Dakota, to Henry John and Bessie (Ruesink) TeBeest. He graduated from Castlewood High School and attended the University of South Dakota for one year. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 until 1955. On December 31, 1952, he married Janet Johnson at Castlewood. Glenn worked for 36 years for the South Dakota Department of Transportation as a surveyor, inspector, project engineer, and engineering supervisor at offices in Watertown, Huron, and Brookings. He also worked with the State Emergency Management office and FEMA personnel, surveying, assessing, and estimating flood damages in federal declared disaster areas. Following his retirement with the state, he assisted in the family operation of the Zesto Drive-Inn. Glenn was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon and trustee. He was a member of the American Legion, Elks, and was involved with the Volunteer Service Bank. Survivors include his wife, Janet TeBeest, of Brookings; a daughter, Debra (Craig) Vis, of Brookings; two sons: Kevin (Vicki) TeBeest of Burton, Michigan, and Gregg (Lauri) TeBeest of Waseca, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Verna Shiver, of Eastpoint, Florida; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Clergy: Rev.
