Obituary

Glenn Lang, age 87, of Sioux Falls and formerly of Elkton, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018, at the Dougherty Hospice House. Visitations will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2018, with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in Elkton. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018, at the United Parish in Elkton with burial to follow in the Elkton City Cemetery.

Glenn Edward Lang was born on February 11, 1931, in White, South Dakota, the son of Ralph and Katherine (Rossman) Lang. He was a graduate of the Brookings High School in 1949, and played on the 1949 Football Championship team. Glenn was the FFA State Farm Mechanic in high school.

Glenn was united in marriage to Mary L. Davis on July 11, 1952, in White, SD. He faithfully served in the United States Army from 1952 until 1954, during the Korean Conflict. After serving in the Army, he returned to farming near Elkton, SD. Glenn retired from farming in 2013, and moved into Elkton, SD.

Glenn is a member of the United Parish of Elkton, the Mason Lodge #111 in White, SD, American Legion Post #198 in Elkton, the ASCS Board, where he received his 20 year service pin, County Committee Man, and the Parnell Township Board for over 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, playing cards, putting together puzzles, and especially spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his children, Bruce (Linda) Lang of Pine Haven, WY, Barbara Lang of Sioux Falls, SD, and Sandra (Todd) Schulz of Sioux Falls, SD; and four grandchildren: Rebecca (Andy) Marushack, Amanda (Aaron) Boomsma, Mariah (Jordan) Hoffman, and Josiah Schulz; and three great-grandchildren, Ian, Ruth Mae, and Quincy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lang; his parents; three sisters, Dorothy, Marian, and Joan; and one brother, William. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.
