Gladys J. Blair of Boise, Idaho (formerly of Pierre and Brookings, South Dakota) was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on October 12, 2006. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 20, 2006, at Sinai Lutheran Church, with interment in the West Sinai Lutheran Cemetery. Visitations will be from 5-7 P.M. Thursday at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in Volga. Gladys was born near Sinai, SD on December 12, 1920 to Christ A. and Adeline (Bolstad) Johnson. She was raised on the family farm with her older brother Allen. She attended school and graduated from Sinai High School. Gladys married Richard Blair of Volga in 1945. They had one son, Richard W. Blair II in 1946. The family moved from Brookings to Pierre in 1952, where Gladys resided until 1997, when she moved to Boise, Idaho, to be near her son and his family. Gladys worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for 35 years, retiring as Chief Operator in Pierre. She was an avid bowler. She is survived by her son, Rick (Karen) Blair, of Boise, Idaho, three granddaughters, Rachelle (Julian) Gilbert of Glyndon, Minnesota, Katena (Zeke) Pershing of Belgrade, Montana, and Terra Blair and fianc Jason Coley of Kuna, Idaho; and four great grandchildren, Colin Gilbert, Keagan Gilbert, Cianna Gilbert, and Quinn Pershing. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and brother.
