Georgia (Ellen) Anderson, 91, of Brookings passed away February 15, 2016, at the Estelline Care Center. We rejoice in the knowledge that our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother is at peace and enjoying eternity with her Savior.   Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Eidsness Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery at Brandt, South Dakota. Visitations will be 5-6 P.M. on Friday at Eidsness Funeral Home.

Georgia was born on a farm near Gary to George and Alma (Stoltenburg) McLain on November 15, 1924. She attended a nearby country school and graduated in 1942, salutatorian of her class. On July 18, 1942, she married Gerald Anderson, the love of her life. They lived on a farm east of Tunnerville, which was her husband's grandfather's farm. They later moved to a ranch near Summit, SD. In 1965, they moved to a farm, in the heart of the Ozarks, near Doniphan, Missouri. In 1974, they retired to Brandt, SD and enjoyed their home and a cabin on Big Stone Lake. Georgia lived in Watertown and then Brookings during her later years. In April 2015, she moved to the Estelline Care Center.

Georgia was a wonderful homemaker and worked as a secretary for the county treasurer in Doniphan, Missouri. Georgia was a wonderful baker and seamstress. She enjoyed working in her garden and tending flowers. Georgia enjoyed swimming and fishing with her husband. Georgia was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her beautiful spirit was contagious to everyone she met. Georgia is preceded in death by her husband Gerald.

She will be greatly missed by her children Joellen (Jay) Johnson of Brookings, SD, Geralyn (Greg) Lunn of Hermantown, MN, Jacqueline (David) Ritter of Brookings, SD, and Jesslyn Latt of Aberdeen, SD. Georgia was cherished by seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and three step great-grandchildren.
