Gary Wilson, age 63, of Volga, died Monday, September 28, 2015, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2015, at First Lutheran Church in Volga. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, rural Volga. Visitations will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in Volga. Gary Lee Wilson was born May 20, 1952, to John A. and Nellie (Post) Wilson in Volga, SD. He grew up in rural Volga and graduated from Sioux Valley High School in 1970. Gary married Lois Remme on June 16, 1984. They were blessed with one daughter, Jessica. Gary loved the farm and was employed as a farmer for many years. In 2012, he retired due to health issues. Gary was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, drag racing, pick-up pulls, trains and especially being a papa to his grandson. Survivors include his daughter, Jessica Wilson; grandson, Samuel; mother, Nellie Wilson; sister, Carol (Harold) VanHoepen all of Volga; brother, Robert (Margaret) Wilson; sister, Dorothy (Greg) VanMaanen both of Brookings; brothers, Kevin (Deanna) Wilson and Keith Wilson of Volga; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John; and brother, Donald.
