Florence "Flo" Schoon, age 74, of Brookings, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at the Brookings Hospital.  Public visitation will be from 9-11:00 A.M on Saturday, December 5, 2020, with a private family funeral starting at 11:00 A.M. all at Eidsness Funeral Home.  The funeral will be live-streamed on the Eidsness Funeral Home website under Florence's obituary.

Florence Lucille Schoon was born January 3, 1946, to Clinton and Velma (Anderson) Pownell in Huron, SD. Flo graduated from Wolsey High School in 1964. After high school, she attended and graduated from Canby Technical College with a degree in secretarial work.

Flo worked at various places throughout her life including her time at the Estelline Nursing Home from July of 1991 until her retirement in 2010. She enjoyed working on puzzles, reading, playing Bingo, having afternoon coffee, collecting hummingbirds, and watching golf on TV.

Survivors include her children; Sherri Walgren (Roger), Susan Jennings (Randy), Stacy Freese (Lori), Shane Freese (Amy), Stephanie Anderson (Bryce), and Shawna Asmus (Ben); Donovan Schoon and family; 18 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren with two on the way; and her siblings, Melva, Bob, Garrel, and Darrel. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jack; sister, Pam; and her granddaughter, Aundria.
