Evellyn Signe Huyser, age 93, died, Sunday, September 21, 2014, at The Neighborhoods at Brookview in Brookings, South Dakota. Memorial Services will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September, 25, 2014, in the Chapel at The Neighborhoods at Brookview with Pastor Matt Wurm from Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church officiating. Evellyn Andersen, daughter of John and Anna Andersen was born December 20th, 1920, on a farm near Sherman, S.D. in Minnehaha County. She received her education there, graduating from high school in 1938. Evellyn married William Huyser on December 31, 1943, in DeRidder, Louisiana. They lived in Sioux Falls for several years where she worked at Fantles, Woolworths, Sioux Falls College, and for several years at the Veterans of Foreign Wars. After retiring, Evellyn and William moved to North Carolina where she taught in the Laubach Literacy Program. They also lived in California for three years before returning to Brookings, S.D. in 1989. While living in Brookings, Evellyn worked as a Hospice volunteer and also at the volunteer bank. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, the LWML and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. In addition to her husband, William; survivors include two sisters, Doris Pomorski of Florida and Ann Loken of Sioux Falls and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be directed to Mt.
