Ella Lutterman, age 99, died Monday, January 10, 2011, at Ramsey Care Center, Maplewood, Minnesota. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 15, 2011, at Zion Lutheran Church of White, South Dakota, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in White. Visitation will start at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, before the service at the church.

Ella Lutterman was born February 16, 1911, to Eilert and Jessie (Reiter) Lutterman in Little Rock, Iowa. Ella moved with her family to Afyon Township near White in 1916. She attended country school at Afton District No. 12.

In the late thirties Ella worked at the Brookings Hospital. In the early forties she moved to Mankato, Minnesota, where she worked at Kato Engineering, a defense plant, until after the war.

After the war , Ella went to work at the Sears Store in Mankato for a few years. Later she transferred to Sears in Minneapolis, where she worked for 35 years, until retiring from the auditing department.

Ella spent many years after retirement volunteering at North Western Hospital in Minneapolis. She enjoyed traveling and travelled extensively in Europe and Africa. She moved to assisted living in 2005, and in 2008 she moved to the Ramsey Care Center.

Ella is survived by her brother, Merle Lutterman of White; two sisters; Edline Kaugen of Canton, South Dakota, and Lois Larson of North St. Paul, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eilert and Jessie; two brothers: Henry and David; and three sisters Alma Sterud, Clara Dupraz, and Irene Weniger.
