Elizabeth M. Wagner, age 82, of Dell Rapids, died Sunday, December 18, 2005, at the Dells Area Health Center in Dell Rapids, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at the United Methodist Church in Dell Rapids, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Brookings. Visitations will be from 5-8 P.M. Tuesday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Elizabeth Mary (Prevo) Wagner was born June 21, 1923, at White, South Dakota, to Nicholas and Bouwena (DeJonge) Prevo. She attended country schools and graduated from White High School. She attended Eastern Normal School in Madison and South Dakota State University. On September 23, 1947, she married Jerry Wagner at her familys farm near White. Elizabeth taught in country schools in Brookings County and taught in the primary grades in White. She worked for the Brookings Telephone Company and then became the Brookings County Deputy Register of Deeds. She and Jerry moved to Dell Rapids in 1995. While in Brookings, Elizabeth was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and was active in the Presbyterian women. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dell Rapids. She enjoyed gardening and needlework. Survivors include her husband, Jerry, of Dell Rapids, South Dakota; son-in-law, Larry Jorgensen, of Sioux Falls; four grandchildren: Keith (Jennifer) Wagner of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, John (Lynn) Jorgensen of Sioux Falls, Dori (Marti Boxwell) Cole of Sioux Falls, and Lori (Jarrod) Johnson of Harrisburg, South Dakota; five great-grandchildren: Kayla, Brianna Joseph, Erick, and Ian; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Angeline, Martena Halstead, and Bowena Ronning; and two daughters: Patricia Wagner and Susan Jorgensen.
