Obituary

Eleanor Erickson, longtime resident of the Sioux Falls and Brookings, South Dakota areas, went to rest in the arms of Jesus on January 25, 2019, in Surprise, Arizona at the age of 80.  Born in Parker, South Dakota, after graduating from Hartford High School she attended Stewart's School of Hair Styling, and was a member of the first graduating class in 1956.  Eleanor worked at various shops throughout her career, touching many with her gentle spirit, and her fierce love of the Lord.

In 1956, Eleanor met John Erickson, and they were married on October 12, 1957.  She is survived by her husband, John, and their four children: Vilinda Smaltz (Eric), Jacqueline Breuer (David), Carla Weber (David), and David Erickson (Julie).  They were blessed with seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, George and Pearl Boekhoff, and her four siblings: Ardelle, Robert, Anthony, and Janet; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Assembly of God Church in Brookings, South Dakota, on Monday, February 4, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., with a luncheon following the service, and preceding interment at Hills of Rest Cemetery, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2019, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings.

In lieu of flowers, Eleanor's family requests that you donate to your favorite charity.
