Doris Tucker, age 85, of Brookings, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018, at The Neighborhoods at Brookview.  Funeral services are planned for Sunday, July 29, 2018, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to service time.  Interment will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018, at Greenwood Cemetery in Brookings at 9:00 a.m.  Eidsness Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Doris Adaline Smith Tucker was born on November 6, 1932, to Bradley and Bessie (Reeder) Smith in McColl, South Carolina.  She grew up in Dillon, South Carolina, and attended school in Clinton, South Carolina.  She married William Lee Tucker II at St. John's Lutheran Church in Clinton, South Carolina.

Doris was a member of Abundant Life Church, and greatly enjoyed singing in the church choir at First Baptist Church, as well as singing with the Sweet Adalines.

Doris loved cooking, gardening, music, and bingo, but her greatest love in life was her husband of 61 years, her three children, and her grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her children: Elizabeth (Mark) Van Horn of Jamestown, North Carolina, Lucinda (Ira) DeBough of Brookings, South Dakota, and William (Sarah) Tucker of Brookings, South Dakota; and her grandchildren: Michael Debough of Huron, South Dakota, James (Alyssa) DeBough of Brookings, South Dakota, Lucas Tucker, Leah Tucker, Levi Tucker, and Logan Tucker.

She is preceded in death by her husband, mother and father, brother, and three sisters.
