Dorene F. Lewis, age 76, of Brookings, died Saturday, August 7, 2010, at Brookview Manor in Brookings. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings.

Dorene Faye (Otteson) Lewis was born June 23, 1934, at Brookings, South Dakota, to Emil and Grace (Biwer) Otteson. She attended country school in the Estelline/Bruce area and later moved to Omaha. She married Marion Lewis in Omaha in 1959. They lived in Akron and Sioux City, Iowa, before moving to Estelline in 1971. Marion died in 1998, and Dorene then moved to Brookings.

Dorene enjoyed reading, playing cards, visiting with friends, painting and drawing, and caring for her houseplants, fish, and cats.

Survivors include two daughters: Roxy Lewis (fianc Paul Garvin) of Brookings, and Althea (Robert) Davis of Brookings; three grandchildren: April Lewis, Eric Blackketter, and Dustin Davis; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, and three brothers.
