Donna Knutsen, age 86, of Volga, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022, at home under hospice care.  Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. on Monday, March 14, 2022, at First Lutheran Church in Volga with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral.  Eidsness Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Donna Ann Knutsen was born on June 21, 1935, in Volga, SD, to Herman and Mildred (Wright) Warnes.  She was baptized at the Olivet Presbyterian Church and confirmed at First Lutheran Church.  She attended school in Volga and graduated from Volga High School in 1953.  On July 5, 1953, Donna was united in marriage to Morris Knutsen at the Olivet Presbyterian Church in Volga.

After raising her children, Donna went to work for the ASCS Office in Brookings from 1986-1995.  In 1997, Donna started working for Svennes Insurance, where she worked until her retirement in 2017.  Donna will be remembered by many for her knack to remember customers by name. Her co-workers at Svennes became lifelong friends.

Donna was a member of First Lutheran Church and was involved with the church quilting group.  She enjoyed reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, and attending her Tuesday afternoon pie and coffee group outing.

Survivors include her husband, Morris of Volga; children, Morris T. of Volga, Dennis of Volga, Marcia (Daryl) Larson of Perham, MN, Marla (Steve) Hayes of Presho, SD, Dianne (Jeff) Mathison of Hopkins, MN, and Julie (Kevin) Gunderson of Volga; her sister, Dorothy Uithoven of Vermillion; 11 grandchildren: Jesse, Jason, Zach, JR, Jodie, Jaime, Nick, Ryan, Amanda, Natalie and Andrew; two step-grandchildren, Mike and Heather; 15 great-grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rose Marie Duke; daughter, Cynthia Marie; daughter-in-law, Lori Knutsen, and step-grandson, Chris Gunderson.
