The Funeral Service for Donna Kluess May be Viewed by Clicking This Link

On Saturday, August 29, 2020, Donna Kluess, loving wife and mother of two, grandmother of two and great grandmother of one, passed away at age 80. Private family funeral services will be held on Friday, September 4, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings, with interment following the service at First Lutheran Cemetery in Brookings.  A drive through visitation will be held the evening prior, Thursday, September 3, 2020, at Eidsness Funeral Home from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Visitors will also have the option to park their vehicle and enter the funeral home to pay their respects to Donna.

Donna was born on May 14, 1940 in Brookings County, South Dakota to Kenneth and Fern Sagmoe.  She graduated from Hendricks (MN) High School in 1958.  On January 13, 1962, she married Jerald Kluess in Hendricks.  They raised two sons, Terry and Troy.  Even with so much cherished time spent taking care of her family and household, she worked numerous jobs including at Hendricks public school as a secretary, in grocery stores and at restaurants.

Donna loved spending time with her grandkids playing board and card games, baking delicious desserts, feeding and watching birds in the backyard, attending weekly dances and especially visiting with family and friends.  She loved collecting little knickknacks of cardinals and cats.  She spent lots of time trying to solve difficult Sudoku puzzles.

She is survived by her husband Jerry, her two children Terry (Renae) of Brookings and Troy (Denise) of Shakopee (MN), two granddaughters, Alexandra (Jeremy Alf) and Cassandra and one great granddaughter, Brianna Alf and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Donna was preceded in death by her parents and both brothers (Duane "Pike" Sagmoe and Deane "Bucky" Sagmoe).
