Donald L. Zelenka, age 67, of Brookings, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at the Brookings Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitations will precede services, beginning at 1:00 P.M. Donald LeRoy Zelenka was born December 19, 1946, at White River, South Dakota. He attended school at White River, and the family then moved to Murdo and Vivian. He worked as a truck driver on road construction until becoming disabled. Donnie enjoyed collecting mailing labels and calendars, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his two daughters: Sheila (Bruce) Scotting of Lake Wilson, Minnesota, and Valerie (Randy) DeMers of Brookings; a son, Steven Kiehn, of Sioux Falls; and grandchildren: Ashtin Scotting (fiancé Brett Simpson), Dannielle Scotting, and David Carter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; granddaughter, Shyleah; and his parents.
