Donald A. Thompson, age 58, of Brookings, died Wednesday, September 21, 2005, at Brookview Manor in Brookings. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2005, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings, with interment at Pioneer Lutheran Cemetery, rural White. Visitations will be from 5-8 P.M. Friday at Eidsness Funeral Home. Donald Allen Thompson was born May 9, 1947, at Volga, South Dakota, to Manfred and Betty (Knudsen) Thompson. He was baptized and confirmed at Pioneer Lutheran Church. He attended country school at Sterling District No. 42 and No. 41, and graduated from White High School in 1965. He worked in trucking and for Dow Chemical, Knutson Pipe Insulating, and Daktronics. His special interests included hunting and fishing. Survivors include his mother, Betty Thompson, of Brookings; two brothers: Jerry (Linda) Thompson of Fridley, Minnesota, and David (Rose) Thompson of Brookings; nephews: Korry, Kalvin, and Kirk Thompson, and Jimmy Barton, and a niece, Roxy Ulness. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Clergy: Rev.
